Nick Hamilton, owner of Barnsdale Gardens—Britain's largest collection of individually designed gardens with 39 working gardens on an eight-acre site—noticed a desire in others to build their own organic gardens. He wanted to create a stress-free and easy resource guide for those looking to get started in organic gardening. He wrote Organic Gardening Techniques: Expert Advice on Planting, Growing, and Caring for Your Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs, which is being re-released as a second edition from CompanionHouse Books in June. "I hope this book will give every gardener the information, confidence, and encouragement required to get out into the garden and grow fruit and vegetables using techniques that are uncomplicated, simple, and effective--and really work, " Hamilton says. Organic Gardening Techniques is packed with practical information on growing fruits, veggies, herbs, and other plants. It also dives deep into tool selection, propagation, crop rotation, growing on supports, training greenhouse crops, watering, and weed and pest control. As a bonus, this book provides helpful information on how to store and preserve all the delicious produce one will harvest. Comments are closed.
