Purple HeartWines has made a $10,000 donation to the Purple Heart Foundation, the latest installment in a series of donations made by the cause-based wine label. On June 8, 2017, proprietor Peter Mondavi Jr. and Janice Mondavi were joined by Purple HeartWines winemaker—and Air Force veteran—John Moynier, and Bill Hutton, Senior Vice President of the Purple Heart Foundation, to present the $10,000 check. Since its inception in March 2016, Purple Heart Wines has donated $40,000 to the Purple HeartFoundation, which has been used to support U.S. military servicepeople and their families.

We were pleased to meetup again with Herta Peju from Peju Winery at the Oakland Wine Festival May Tasting.
We also bought two bottles she brought to the event including the 50/50 which we gave to a friend as a birthday gift.
The Peju family’s second winery, Liana Estates, recently opened at the former site of Acacia Winery.With a purposeful divergence from Peju Province Liana Estates sits on 100 acres in the hills of Carneros, with views of San Pablo Bay and gets its name from the merging of the names Lisa and Ariana, the second generation daughters of Peju Province owner Tony Peju.

Have you gone Whale Watching in Monterey, California? It's a must see. This weekend, we went on a Sailing cruise where we saw at least four whales swimming together for an hour. VERY SPECIAL!
While you're in the area you can stay the night at the charming Hofsas House in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and enjoy Cheese Shop Cheeses and Wine with beautiful views of the Ocean soon after check-in.
Then enjoy Dinner at the Beach House in Monterey. We enjoyed the following Entrees and Desserts:

We enjoyed another great Rhone Rangers San Francisco Tasting June 10 at the Golden Gate Club Presidio. We enjoyed taking with sustainable and biodynamic winemakers including Tara Gomez (KITA), Lise and Vincent Ciolino (Montemaggiore), and representatives from Beckmen Vineyards, Bonny Doon, and Miner.

Due to the very unfortunate news of Trump withdrawing the U..S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, Paramount Pictures decided to have a pre-release showing to Al Gore Climate Reality Trainees. The film is also being updated now with this unfortunate news IN ADDITION to the Grassroots Efforts being done to address this. The Director was not able to elaborate the exact Grassroots efforts as its being done as we are writing this article.
Many of you know MANY efforts are being done NOW. As of last night, many US States, City Mayors, Businesses, Universities and Investors have Committed to the Goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.

Bergerac in San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood has introduced Adam Nichol as their new Executive Chef. We had the pleasure of meeting Adam and enjoying Gourmet vegetarian and vegan shared plates and excellent Barrel Aged Cocktails!
Chef Nichol, a graduate of the Johnson & Wales culinary program, uses seasonal, fresh ingredients to produce shareable Gourmet plates. Most recently, Nichol headed up the Kitchen at Gaspar Brasserie and prior professional experience includes Flour & Water, the Four Seasons Hotel, AQ Restaurant & Bar and Wayfare Tavern, all located in San Francisco. He is also a certified Level 1 Sommelier/Court of Master Sommeliers.
All Appetizers, Entrees, and the Butterscotch Pot Creme Dessert were beautifully prepared and exemplary. We ordered and recommend all the items below for you to try! Pictures are in our Slideshow below. Enjoy!
