I was very surprised to hear via this Press Release that a member of Smithfield Specialty Foods Group was appointed to the NASFT Board of Directors. NASFT hosts specialty food conferences. I believe you've heard that Smithfield's operations have been a breeding ground of disease, and have been potentially implicated in the Swine Flu Epidemic and deaths which followed throughout the world.
